Chocks away for Heathrow Expansion.

At the inaugural Woking Chamber of Commerce Breakfast meeting held at The Hilton Doubletree on Friday 3rd March, Maya Jani, Expansion Procurement Director for Heathrow Airport shared with us how Heathrow has been gearing up for delivery of their third runway further to a government decision last year to support their north-west runway option.

Following last year’s government decision to support a third runway at Heathrow Airport, work has begun on the draft Airports National Policy Statement – a consultation designed to allow people to voice their approval of, or concerns with, the scheme.

The proposed north-west runway development will create thousands of new jobs in the Surrey region, which is great news for Woking, as opportunities for employment and procurement increase. Maya Jani, Expansion Procurement Director for Heathrow Airport, said:

“In order to ensure this runway happens, we need the support of key Heathrow supporters, including Woking businesses. To let the government know your views you can visit our website and fill in our simple response tool."
