Cellar Wines wins SBS Award

Earlier this month, on 3 July, Cellar Wines in Ripley won the coveted Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday Award.

Nationally, each week, Theo Paphitis rewards a small group of small businesses that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their businesses in one tweet including the all-important hashtag #SBS in a specific time slot each Sunday.

From increased Twitter followers to positive media publicity, being added to the www.shopsbs.co.uk can increase the sales of the business prepared to persevere and work hard. Apparently, a smidgen of luck comes in handy too!

Cellar Wines is a multi-award winning boutique which opened in December 2015. It offers fine wines, spirits and a gourmet delicatessen, as well as special events, guest wine educators and an expansive selection of fine wines from around the world.

Other businesses interested in winning the Small Business Sunday Award should head to Twitter. Every Monday night at 8pm, Theo carefully reviews applicants’ tweets, website and anything else mentioned in or attached to the tweet, and chooses his favourite lucky six out of thousands that enter. These are then re-tweeted. As he has more than 500,000 followers, this provides a massive boost to the chosen businesses, which then join the SBS Winners Community.

This Community now comprises over 1,600 small businesses, and every year Theo hosts an event to which all of the SBS winners are invited. These events provide a fantastic opportunity for the SBS community members to network with one another, hear from Theo about the latest SBS news and initiatives, and listen to a range of inspirational speakers.
