Commercial Way prepares to Welcome Côte Brasserie

Work begins this week along Commercial Way to facilitate the arrival of another high-end restaurant brand in Woking.

Côte Brasserie is the latest name to be associated with the Town Centre’s developing food offer, joining the likes of Bill’s, Carluccio’s, Ed’s Dinner, Las Iguanas and The Restaurant at Tante Marie.

Opening in Spring 2016, Côte will move into a refurbished and renovated Provincial House (26 and 26a Commercial Way). Current Provincial House tenants, Citizen Advice, Relate and Woking Association of Voluntary Service (WAVS) remain on site, making room for their new neighbour by having already relocated within the building. They will benefit from improvements made to the building fabric and redecoration throughout. LGBT helpline, Outline, has moved into Export House.

Cllr Gary Elson, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development said: “As we continue with our Town Centre regeneration plans, Woking is fast becoming a destination of choice for both new and established brands. The presence of the Tante Marie Culinary Food Academy and events like the Woking Food and Drink Festival put Woking on the map and capture people’s attention. Businesses are starting to appreciate and take renewed interest in what Woking has to offer.

“Part of our vision was to create a vibrant, café culture in the Town Centre. If seeing is believing, you only have to walk down Commercial Way to know this is now a tangible reality. Like Côte, we hope more businesses will come and see this for themselves and want to be a part of it.”

Côte is a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros of Paris. Inspired by new trends, it is dedicated to serving authentic classic brasserie dishes with a modern twist, using high quality produce at great prices.

The 150 cover restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Its a la carte menu boasts brasserie favourites such as steak frites, moules marinières, corn-fed chicken from rural Brittany and tuna Niçoise. When it comes to dessert, Côte’s crème caramel and crème brûlée are house favourites.

Côte’s joint managing director Harald Samúelsson said: “We’re very excited to be bringing Côte Brasserie to Woking’s Commercial Way. The concentration of restaurants along this pedestrianised part of town, with their al fresco dining, offers a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere; we’re confident that our friendly customer service and our great tasting and excellent value menu will fit in very well here.

“We have been hoping to open a restaurant in Woking for a while, having had many requests from local residents. We are delighted to have finally found the right spot and we look forward to becoming a part of Woking’s community.”
