Lifestyle

The ideal lifestyle

Making the most of the great outdoors is easy thanks to Woking's canal towpaths, cycle trails and range of golf courses. It's also the perfect place for young families to flourish with a great selection of top-rated state and independent schools situated in the area.

Transport

Woking is superbly connected. London Waterloo is 25 minutes by train, arterial roads such as the M25 skirt the town, and major international airports including Heathrow and Gatwick are but an hour away. A £1.8m Cycle Woking program made Woking easily accessible by bike, offers generous parking facilities and enhanced the local walking infrastructure.

Nature

There are thousands of hectares of woodland and green routes to explore. Gems include Horsell Common, the Basingstoke Canal and the River Wey. Helpful maps can be found here. Volunteering projects, including Woking Environment Action and Natural Woking, offer the opportunity to help increase biodiversity and conservation in the Borough.

Sustainability

'Woking 2050' sets out our vision to create a sustainable borough. A "climate emergency" was declared in 2019 by Woking Borough Council and a pledge has been made to become zero carbon by 2030. Many of the green initiatives on offer could benefit your business, and there are many opportunities to get involved and contribute towards a sustainable Woking.

Recreation

There are a wide range of parks and recreation grounds, playgrounds and skateparks for children and adults to enjoy. There are numerous local sports clubs and facilities to take advantage of and live an active life. Woking Sports Box has a state of the art gym and athletics tracks and is only a short distance from Woking Leisure Centre.
