Woking Works has partnered with recognised and influential companies from across the Borough to make Woking a thriving and prosperous business hub.
“Arcom IT has been established over 20 years, meaning we are experts in designing and setting-up IT systems that can help ease the burden of managing your own. We can provide services to manage an entire IT infrastructure, from servers and desktops to applications, data and networks.
There is a strong allegiance between Arcom IT and Woking Borough Council, following a project that began in 2015 to enhance the Council's existing fibre network and data centre in the town centre. As a result, Woking Town Centre was transformed into a hub for leading edge digital services, allowing consumers and local businesses to free, hi-speed, internet access.
In addition, the collaboration between Arcom and the Council also provided for a data storage facility, allowing local businesses to store their data in Woking rather than on an international mainframe. The Woking-based Cloud allows users to store digital information away from their personal devices. The local data hub also means the browsing habits of those using the free internet service will not be marketed nationally or internationally, but can be used to target advertising for Woking businesses.”
