Where business matters

BREXIT and your business

As the country prepares to leave the European Union, Woking Works' Associate Partners are providing online resources to help businesses manage the forthcoming changes.

The Government is placing very high priority on local organisations working in partnership to support SMEs in this time of economic uncertainty.

Surrey Chambers of Commerce, with whom we work to deliver a number of business support events each year, has compiled a Brexit Checklist to ensure that businesses are as prepared as possible.

Enterprise M3 - our Local Enterprise Partnership and Growth Hub - has gathered a range of Brexit resources to help advise businesses about topics like data protection and export, and answer some essential FAQ's.

EM3 is currently working with partners and stakeholders to develop plans to support businesses in managing the potential impact of Brexit. This will include a package of business support which focuses on sharing practical and impartial information, encouraging businesses to consider how they might be impacted and carry out an informed risk assessment.

Brexit clinics are also in the pipeline for the coming months - please sign up to our newsletter to find out more. In the meantime, businesses may find it useful to take a look at the Government's portal for EU exit.

In addition, the Government has developed a triage tool for businesses, which enables companies to find tailored information that is relevant to their individual circumstances.

The Department for International Trade are running workshops across the South East for help prepare exporting businesses for Brexit. See here for more information.
