Making Tax Digital
HMRC's Making Tax Digital changes are just around the corner (April 2019), so we're running this event to ensure businesses and accountants can keep up-to-date with the changes be made.
Presenting on the day were Sam Thomas to have Sam Thomas, Partner at Hamlyns Chartered Accountants and Dave Norwell, Business Development Manager at Freeagent
Sam presented his sector's perspective of the changes being made whilst Dave spoke about the benefits of using a cloud-based accounting software can take the pain out of the changes
Sam Thomas of Hamlyns Chartered Accountants
Sam is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. After reading History at Oxford University he went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant with a central London firm after which he spent five years with Barclays Investment Bank.
Sam decided to return to practice to work closely with individuals and their businesses to help them achieve their goals by applying the strategic planning knowledge he gained from his role at Barclays. In addition to advising SMEs across a wide range of sectors on issues including R&D tax credits; Sam also advises solicitors on all aspects of accounting and taxation and the SRA rules.
Dave Norwell of FreeAgent
Dave Norwell is the Regional Account manager for award winning accountancy software FreeAgent. With over 10 years in software business development and project management. In his last two roles Dave used FreeAgent as an end user and loved it so much he went to work for them!
He now works across London and the home counties helping accountants and bookkeepers use FreeAgent with their clients and supports them during the education and on boarding journey.
