Woking Works and Nuffield Health are delighted to be bringing this stimulating event to The Lightbox.
Working with Surrey Chambers of Commerce and other partners, the morning will cover a number of topics, including:
- art and creative activity, and its impact on wellbeing and mental health
- an overview of mental health at work, how it can affect employees and what you can and should do to support your colleagues
- how looking after your physical health and nutrition can help with stress
In addition to the speakers, who are experts in their field, there will also be a number of ‘passion points’ manned by The Lightbox, Nuffield Health, Demolish The Wall and others, where attendees can engage directly with the speakers to find out more about how to make their workforce healthier, as well as sign up for dedicated ‘lunch & learn’ sessions with Nuffield.

Wellbeing in the workplace
Marilyn Scott, Director, The Lightbox
Marilyn is the Director of the award winning gallery and museum The Lightbox which opened in Woking in September 2007. The Lightbox is an independent gallery managed by a charitable trust. Marilyn has managed the project from concept design through to opening and now operates the gallery with an exciting exhibition and events programme.
She is a passionate advocate of the power of the arts to promote well being for communities and has created a role for The Lightbox at the forefront of research and practice in this area.
Marc Caulfield, CEO, Demolish the Wall
After a 28 year career predominantly in agency roles, but with some media owner and client side experience, Marc started Demolish the Wall in July 2017 with business partner Jon Waters, another ex-advertising man.
During Marc’s media career he has suffered from sometimes crippling Anxiety and Depression and this drives his passion for mental wellbeing for everyone.
Demolish the Wall focuses on an organisation’s and culture as well as its people. The work they deliver covers mental health awareness training, management workshops, ensuring organisations are legally compliant by having robust policies and procedures in place and an implementation plan to ensure these happen.
Marc is a regular writer and speaker on the subject of mental health in the workplace
Emma Saccomani, B6 Learning
Emma is a qualified as both a Mental Health First Aid and i-act (for positive mental health and wellbeing ) instructor, on a mission raise awareness of mental health in the workplace create sustainable change. She promotes ways to grow not ‘in spite of’, but due to our challenges so we can build resilience and thrive in an ever-changing world.
With a corporate background in Learning and Development she has 25 years of experience in a range of diverse business settings. Being familiar with challenges at both the sharp end and behind-the-scenes, she has a pragmatic, down-to-earth approach. With her volunteer experience facilitating depression support groups for CornerHouse Mental Health service, and her own experience as a parent, she promotes the value of supportive conversations and community.
Luke Gibbons, Personal Trainer, Nuffield Health West Byfleet Fitness and Wellbeing Gym
Luke began working as a Personal Trainer in 2014 after gaining his BSc (Hons) in Sport & Exercise Science from University of Surrey, specialising in strength and conditioning, nutrition and athletic programming.
With a combination of practical and academic expertise in the field of Sport and Exercise Science, Luke is a knowledgeable trainer who always aims to incorporate a wide variety of exercise techniques in his sessions, designing programmes for clients which are both challenging and enjoyable.
Michael Tappin, Consultant Eye Surgeon, Nuffield Health Woking Hospital
Michael Tappin is a specialist in Cornea, Cataract, Anterior Segment, Refractive Laser & Lens Surgery who has worked at Nuffield Health Woking Hospital for over 10 years
