The Purpose of the Role

Are you an experienced Transport Officer looking for your next career opportunity

Here at Amey we are looking for an experienced Client Transport Officer to ensure all legal, operational and maintenance requirements are met in respect of the Operator’s Licence and mixed fleet operation. Size and scope: Contract level role supporting the Senior Management Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating the compliance of all vehicles and workshops across the JWS Surrey Contract

You will be required to work across all 4 Surrey depots, with your main depot being Surrey Heath.

Salary ranging from £35k - £40k dependant on experience 40hours per week.

Duties

Liaise with suppliers to ensure Fleet compliance is maintained in respect of PMIs, MOTs, Tachograph Calibrations & LOLER Examinations.

• Ensure workshop equipment inspections/calibrations are undertaken in line with statutory guidelines and manufacturer specifications, and that records are appropriately maintained.

• Create & maintain Fleet Maintenance Planners.

• Facilitate contract specific transport requirements in respect of vehicle availability.

• Hold periodic meetings with key Fleet suppliers.

• Provide information for applicable sections of internal meeting packs.

Experience

Qualifications

• The Transport Manager must be in possession of a current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) “National Road Haulage Operations (as appropriate)

Membership of complementary professional trade body e.g. IRTE, IMI.

Skills

• Strong organisational, paperwork / administration and numeracy.

• Ability to think logically and analytically.

• Understanding of vehicular maintenance / engineering and knowledge of a Workshop / Bodyshop environment.

• Computer literate. Experience

• Significant relevant operational experience in the Logistic or Transportation Industry.
