Learn how and where to secure finance for your business

As the need for small to medium-sized businesses to find and secure finance continues, local companies have the opportunity to attend an event that will bring together a host of experts who will highlight where and how to access finance for a range of business needs on Thursday 21 March 2013 at the H.G. Wells Conference and Events Centre, Woking.

`Finance for Business', a Connect 2 Innovation event hosted by Woking Borough Council, is a morning forum for business people considering finance options to build and grow their companies. It's the ideal forum to gain a better understanding of grants, loans, equity investment and all matters business finance. Delegates will also have the opportunity to speak with funding organisations on the day.

Key contributors on the day include Technology Strategy Board, Brooklands College, HSBC, Hamlyn's, Barlow Robbins, a venture capital expert, an angel investor and a small business owner offering their own perspective on raising finance.

Anne Crean, CEO of Connect 2 Innovation, summed up the importance of the event: "Access to the right finance is critical to business success. This forum is a great opportunity to learn about funding for product innovation, apprenticeship grants for employers, research and development tax credits, bank finance and equity investment for growth."

Cllr Gary Elson, Woking Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, added: "Helping business to find ways to grow is a cornerstone of our Economic Development Strategy. Finance is a vital ingredient for any business to succeed alongside the networks, advice and infrastructure business needs. We are working, with our partner, Connect 2 Innovation, to ensure the right ingredients are in place for business in and around Woking."

The `Finance for Business' event will take place between 9am and 12noon on Thursday 21 March at the H.G. Wells Conference and Events Centre, Woking.
