The Green Deal - Opportunities for businesses and residents

Action Surrey invites members of the business community to join them for a free, lively networking breakfast on Thursday 28 March at the H. G. Wells Conference and Events Centre (7.30 to 10.15am), to find out how they can harness the opportunities created by the Green Deal.

The Green Deal is an initiative designed to enable many households and businesses to improve the energy-efficiency of their properties, and thereby consume less energy and save money.

With a panel of guest speakers from Skanska UK PLC, the University of Surrey, PRUPIM, GHE Solar, Action Surrey, BRE and Woking Borough Council, the event will:

  • explain the key components of the Green Deal

  • highlight current opportunities for start ups, SMEs and large companies

  • showcase best practice that highlights the Green Deal's potential

  • debate potential challenges to accessing these opportunities

  • develop knowledge on funding, technology and supply chain opportunities.

The Green Deal provides a great opportunity for property investors or occupiers, and potential assessors and installers from the commercial or residential marketplace, and is now being rolled out to assess, fund and install energy-saving improvements to homes and businesses. Most importantly for building owners and occupiers, it is financed on an innovative `pay as you save' model.
