Weekend closure of Victoria Way for crane arrival

A crane that will mark the beginning of construction work to the residential and hotel towers, as part of the Victoria Square development, will arrive on-site in the New Year.

To enable the safe delivery and erection of the crane, which measures over 100 metres in height, it is necessary to close Victoria Way from 5am, Friday 5 January to 5am, Monday 8 January 2018 (dates are subject to change). During the weekend, both north and south-bound lanes of Victoria Way will be closed to all traffic between Goldsworth Road and Lockfield Drive.

North-bound traffic will be diverted along Goldsworth Road and Church Street West before rejoining Victoria Way via Forge End.

South-bound traffic will be diverted along Lockfield Drive, Parley Drive, Triggs Lane and Wych Hill before rejoining the A320 at Turnoak Roundabout.

Clear diversion route signage will be in place for the duration of the works.

We would like to thank road users for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
