Surveying firm Macleod Simmonds utilises ground breaking technology to win top award at the 2018 Highways Awards!

Macleod Simmonds are delighted to win the Most Innovative Highway Authority Award at the 2018 Highways Awards.

In a highly contested category, their revolutionary approach to a complex project undertaken on behalf of the City of London Corporation at a Central London location of high archaeological significance, ensured a resounding win for the Surrey-based firm.

Employing a combination of their own unique systems, Macleod Simmonds achieved hugecost savings for stakeholders, minimised disruption to road users and the local community as well as provided vital information to archaeologists to ensure successful completion of the project.

The judges praised the entry for “very positive outcomes achieved from this highwaysproject that has shown excellent practice and new ways of working”.

Craig Simmonds, MD Macleod Simmonds “Winning the innovation category at this year’s Highways Awards tops off an incredible year for Macleod Simmonds! We are extremely proud of our achievements on this ground-breaking project, all of which could not have been happened without the support of the fantastic team from the City of London”.

Ben Manku, Construction Manager, City of London “Thrilled to receive recognition from Highways Awards 2018 for this incredibly complex project requiring leading edge technology and teamwork.”

Based in a complex high traffic London location, all information generated helped minimise unnecessary traffic delays, restrict noise levels and reduce overall delays all of which lessened the potential impact of the project on road users and the local community.

Working on projects for Transport for London, major UK Airports and Woking Borough Council, we are on the lookout for fresh talent to join our team as trainees in our new office based in Woking. For further information visit www.macleodsimmonds.com/careers/
