Update from Woodhaven Space

Woodhaven space is closed currently to team building and training workshops and physical events, but don’t worry we have certainly pivoted and are proud to be busier than ever involved in three initiatives...

PPE

Firstly we are working hard to procure PPE for Surrey County Council and the NHS at cost with our business contacts from across the U.K. USA and China. We have also found a kindred spirit in PSP freight -a fellow member of Surrey Chamber, so we hope not just to supply PPE at cost but to bring it into Surrey at cost too, to help get the economy moving again as soon as we are out of this phase of lockdown!

We are in daily dialogue with both local and National Government Covid19 procurement groups and our MP Jonathan Lord is helping to ensure that as a local business we are in the frame, as we are proudly placed to help our County and Country by supplying at heavily discounted prices.

We shall update Woking Chamber of Commerce early next week as we hope to extend this offering to The Woking Chamber of Commerce members too ....watch this space or contact Nicky on 07802256523 for immediate info.

LinkedIn Local - Woking.

We have hosted two meetings this year so far, raising vital funds for Woking and Sam Beare Hospice and connecting local business folk with delicious food on the 2nd Monday evening of the month. Despite no physical meetings this month at Woodhaven, we are still planning to host our LinkedIn Local event next week on line with Zoom - Monday 11th May 2020 at 7pm if interested in joining for some fun whilst building your local business network please contact me on Linked In Nicky Yates (Davis) or click this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/linkedin-local-woking-11-may-tickets-99342690662

Surrey Drive.

Finally we are an active partner within an incredible initiative @SurreyDrive. As Ambassador for Surrey Event Professionals - we have all collectively fundraised over TWENTY THOUSAND POUNDS to feed the NHS frontline and the Woodhaven kitchen is busy making and baking 200 savoury snacks and healthy sweet treats every Wednesday and Saturday which we package and are collected and delivered to local NHS heroes.

Caterers and suppliers from across the county are all busy making and baking over 4000 hot meals and tasty treats free of charge every week for all the NHS frontlinersat the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust,  St Luke’s cancer centre and associated clinics and the Phyllis Tuckwell hospice too.

Funds are raised by generous donations. Thank you so much for every single penny raised so far, but please do keep giving as we have 10 more weeks to go and for the price of a takeaway coffee you can provide a hot meal to a tired nurse, doctor, surgeon, porter etc

There are TWO ways to donate to Surrey Drive

Oh, and every penny that does not get turned into food will go to Royal Surrey County Hospital Charity.

We also collect handcream for the NHS frontliners sore hands at the hospital,  so feel free to add to the box on our doorstep... I know that Richard Field Woking Chamber President and his wife have already done so.

Staysafe everyone. Please donate if you can and we do look forward to seeing you and all the other Woking start up members again soon too.
