Steps2Work

Surrey Care Trust is a local charity which offers effective mentoring support and skills training to improve the lives of thousands of vulnerable young people, adults and families across Surrey each year. We help them to:

  • Build their confidence and skills for better chances for life, learning and work
  • Improve their wellbeing and strengthen their local communities
  • Provide positive childhoods and supportive families

Steps to Work is a new programme, supported by Woking Borough Council, designed to equip 18-25 year olds at particular risk of unemployment with the tools they need to find a job that is suitable for them and which they can sustain.

The programme will offer young people a wide range of activities to improve their skills and prepare them for work. Each client will also be supported by a specially trained volunteer Steps 2 Work mentor, who will motivate and inspire, help to build confidence and ensure their commitment to their employment.

As a community based charity, the Surrey Care Trust welcomes the support of local businesses to help us provide work placements, training or apprenticeships to create brighter futures for young people in Woking.

If you would like to enable young people to make better opportunities for themselves as well as a positive contribution to your company and the local community, please contact Catherine Leamon – email [email protected] or call Cathy on 07919 213904 / 07730 570305.
